The day started at Madingley Hall, where I met Angelique for a few bridal preparation photos. We then took a trip into Cambridge for Angelique and Jan’s Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony at St Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church. I had photographed a Romanian Orthodox wedding a couple of years back and the similarities were striking. After this, we headed back to Madingley Hall, an elegant Jacobean wedding venue just outside the city, for the wedding reception and party. On arrival, the … Read More
I recently had the pleasure of photographing an amazing 50th birthday party at a popular Cambridge location: Doubletree by Hilton, just by the river. Host Events organised a fantastic evening, which included vintage burlesque entertainment, unbelievable illusion acts by David Penn, a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, and brilliant 80s music by Wild Boys. The guests were treated to delightful cocktails, expertly prepared by the Cocktail Box Flair bar tenders.
We started off our 2015 wedding photography season by photographing Kim and Luke at South Farm, a “distinctly different wedding venue” in Shingay-cum-Wendy, on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border. South Farm is an extremely popular venue in an exclusive setting and lends itself to amazing photo opportunities around its enchanting grounds and elegant buildings, not to forget the charming Romany caravans and showman’s wagons! Kim and Luke have been together several years and they enjoyed their wedding day in the company of … Read More
A selection of catwalk photos taken by Neil at the Grand Wedding Fair organised by The Cambridge Roar, in partnership with Cambridge Style Week. The Cambridge Roar 2015 is raising money for The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity and the Prince’s Trust and there is a range of events to get involved with between 19 June and 11 July, from a beer festival and white collar boxing to a prestige motor show and grand finale Hollywood Ball.
Our wedding photography season starts later this month, so the past two weekends have been busy with pre-wedding shoots, to get the couples used to working with Neil and relaxed in front of the camera. It is also a chance for the brides and grooms-to-be to give Neil feedback on the editing style. Here are a couple of shots, from South Farm, and Madingley Hall. Unlike most photographers, Invision Photography Ltd offers not only complimentary pre-wedding shoot sessions, but we … Read More
Bassmead Manor Barns Wedding Showcase was a great success today for Invision Photography! It was extremely busy, from start to finish, and the events team had thought of everything to make this venue’s first showcase most enjoyable. In addition to the barns being beautifully set up and various wedding suppliers being at hand to answer questions and show off their work, there were some amazing treats on offer from the in-house catering company. A brilliant experience, I’m really looking forward … Read More
It’s been a busy start of the year, with several consultation meetings for weddings taking place not only in 2015, but next year too. It is satisfying that couples are increasingly starting to recognise the benefits of hiring a full-time professional wedding photographer. Of course, nowadays so many people have a good camera, and it might be tempting to ‘have a friend/relative do it’, to save money, but unless that friend is a professional wedding photographer (and that is the … Read More
As a wedding photographer, I meet some lovely couples, most of whom I stay in touch with, either through Facebook or email. Some I become good friends with and may meet them for a coffee or beer. 🙂 I often read that they are having a baby, and that is really nice, but this weekend I was asked by Toby and Em, who were married at Rectory Farm in 2013, if I would like to come along to the christening … Read More
This weekend was my penultimate wedding of the year, I was at Milling Barn in Hertfordshire, for the wedding of Chris and Claire. Claire chose to get ready for the day at the beautiful Hanbury Manor, so with it being a crisp winter morning, sun shining directly onto the back face of Hanbury Manor, I decided to send the drone up for a few photographs. Claire and her bridesmaids had an old Bentley take them to the church in Cottered … Read More
Another stunning wedding at the beautiful Rectory Farm, Cambridge – our friends, Caroline and David gave me the great honour of photographing their wedding back in September. Of course, photographing couples on what is, likely, the most important day of their lives, comes with a considerable amount of pressure, but when one is a guest as well, knowing lots of people, all talking, drinking, and having fun, it is even harder to keep on top of the day. I hope I … Read More
